For some parts of the country, winter is synonymous with snow, jackets, boots, and staying indoors.
For us, winter means t-shirts, shorts, good hair days, and the open-air Coral Gables Farmers Market.
2018 marks the 27th season of the Coral Gables Farmers Market. The market will be held every Saturday until March 24, 2018 from 8am to 2pm on the corner of Miracle Mile and Le Jeune Rd in front of Coral Gables City Hall.
It's designed as a small outdoor European-style green market that provides an opportunity to buy locally-grown food directly from the producer. Farm to table.
You get to enjoy fresh, seasonally-grown food produced a short distance from your home, while producers get to sell directly to you, cutting out the middleman and maximizing profits. Win-win.
Aside from traditional farmers market fare, the Coral Gables Farmers Market offers prepared foods, baked goods, flowers, plants, free Tai Chi classes, gardening workshops, cooking demonstrations, and children's activities.
In short, the Coral Gables Farmers Market is a great way to sample local produce and foods, learn about the local culture, and run into people you used to eat burgers with who are now vegans with two toddlers and a dog. Nice stroller!

Better yet, just show up this Saturday. Look out for the guy with an Almond Butter Croissant in one hand and an Acai Bowl in the other.
